If you’ve seen Hailey Bieber’s skin, then you know she’s mastered the dewy ‘glazed donut’ skin glow. While we never could have predicted “Glazed donut skin’ to be the biggest 2022 beauty trend, times are strange — nothing really surprises us anymore! And if you’re new to the trend — don’t worry — we’re not using actual donuts in our skincare routine. Glazed donut skin is simply a term for glowing, hydrated skin that radiates shine — similar to that of a glazed donut. But achieving glowing skin isn’t just about skincare and beauty products. While nutrients and botanicals (like topical Vitamin C and Sea Buckthorn oil) undoubtedly boost skin glow, what you put in your body matters just as much as what you put on your body! Which brings us to Hailey Beiber’s glowing skin smoothie. Ahead, we’re breaking down what you need to know about the trendy Hailey Bieber skin smoothie, including what makes it so beneficial for skin health and a simple DIY recipe so you can make your own at home!

What Is Hailey Bieber’s Skin Smoothie?

Trending all over TikTok, the Hailey Bieber Smoothie is available at Erewhon Markets in Los Angeles — for a whopping $17. But what makes this smoothie so beneficial for skin health? And why is it so expensive!?

To be honest, we’re not too shocked to hear of the nearly $20 smoothie price tag. Outrageous, yes! But, Erewhon is known for its overpriced wellness products. That said, we wouldn’t judge if you decided to splurge on the Bieber smoothie! It’s delicious, loaded with skin-supportive nutrients, and made with whole food ingredients. No fillers, gums, or added oils!

What’s Inside the Erewhon Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie?

So what makes this the ultimate skin food smoothie?

According to Erewhon, the smoothie contains: Malk Almond Milk, Neocell Hyaluronic Acid, Organic Strawberries, Organic Avocado, Organic Dates, Organic Maple Syrup, Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen, Vanilla Stevia, Sea Moss, Organic Coconut Creme, House Made Strawberry Sauce.

Let’s take a look at some of the key ingredients for healthy skin.

Strawberries

As you may know, vitamin C is one of the best nutrients for skin health. And shocker, strawberries are among the richest food sources of vitamin C! In fact, a single cup of these small-but-mighty berries contains 85 mg of vitamin C, 160% of the recommended daily value. That’s even more vitamin C than oranges! Pretty impressive. Without vitamin C, the body can’t synthesize collagen, a protein that helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and skin aging. Plus, it helps to speed skin healing, reduce inflammation, and fight free radical damage. Of course, this superfood ingredient is in Hailey’s skin smoothie! Strawberries are also rich in anthocyanins, plant compounds that protect against UV skin damage. Did we mention they’re low in sugar and calories?

Avocado

You can’t talk about foods for glowing skin without mentioning this creamy fruit! Rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, avocados help boost skin moisture, reduce skin inflammation, and protect against environmental damage.

They’re also rich in vitamins C and E, two antioxidants that aid tissue repair and protect against skin aging. If you’ve never added avocado to a smoothie, you’re missing out. It makes it ultra creamy and delicious.

Sea Moss

The newest superfood in town: Sea moss. Also known as Irish moss, sea moss is a type of algae that is jam-packed with nutrients. While it’s currently trending in the wellness world, this sea nutrient has actually been utilized for hundreds of years. Believed to be rich in minerals, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids, it may help prevent acne, reduce inflammation, and reduce signs of premature aging.

Hyaluronic Acid

When it comes to smoothing the skin and boosting skin hydration at a cellular level, hyaluronic acid is a must! While most people are familiar with topical hyaluronic acid, some brands, like Neocell, make liquid versions of this superfood. And you guessed it, it’s in Hailey Bieber’s smoothie.

Aside from bone broth, there are few foods rich in hyaluronic acid. Therefore, supplementing with liquid hyaluronic acid is ideal (if you want the benefits). That said, magnesium-rich foods support the body’s natural production of Hyaluronic Acid. So, if you don’t have access to the supplement, load up your smoothie with some magnesium-rich nuts, leafy greens, or seeds instead!

Collagen

Collagen for skin health is nothing new. From coffee to the trending Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie, this anti-aging ingredient is everywhere. It helps to firm, plump, and tighten your skin, prevent fine lines and wrinkles, and boost skin hydration. While many beauty companies mix it into serums and lotions, it’s actually too large of a molecule to be absorbed by our skin! Therefore, it must be broken down into smaller peptides, which is why supplementing with collagen powder is so effective. Yep, mix it into everything!
