Are you stuck in a fitness rut and in need of some serious fitness motivation? We got you, and listen we totally get it. Working out isn’t always on the top of the priority list because let’s face it, life has a way of getting in the way. Plus, when life gets hectic, it’s easy to come up with some reason or another as to why we can’t squeeze in a workout. But, here’s the thing. Fitness is super important not only for our physical health but our mental health as well. And, we have some tips on getting your butt in gear to jump-start that motivation to exercise again.

Finding Fitness Motivation “All Day Err Day”

Let’s be real for a minute-we don’t wake up every single day and feel excited about getting our workouts in. Sometimes we just want to stay in bed a little longer and take a rest day, and some days we come up with a million excuses as to why a good workout is just too much or too hard to fit in that day. No matter what the dialogue is that you have going on surrounding the topic of fitness, we are here to help you find that inner fitness motivation again. And, while we can’t promise that working out will be easy, what we can promise is that you will never regret a workout. You will only regret the ones you made excuses not to do.

Ok, rant over-here’s what you need to know to give yourself the kick in the rear you need to find fitness motivation and reach your fitness goals this year.

#1 Make a Kickass Playlist

What’s a workout without a good playlist? Not only does music help motivate us, but it may help reduce even more stress as you push yourself through each exercise a little harder as your favorite songs give you that extra boost you need to demolish each workout. Try putting together some of your favorite motivating songs and listen to them as you get ready to workout and then while you get your sweat sesh in. It’s a sure-fire way to help give you a boost of fitness motivation.

#2 Tell Someone About Your Goals

It’s great to tell ourselves all about the fitness and health goals we have, but it’s another to tell someone who can help keep us accountable. Tell someone about the fitness goals you have and how you plan to reach them. Sometimes just knowing that someone else knows what your plans and goals are is enough to keep us motivated to show up and workout each day.

#3 Get an Accountability Partner

While we’re on the topic of accountability, why not get an accountability partner? Give that friend who has said they want to get fit or lose weight more times than you can count that nudge to finally do it! You can workout together using the FitOn app while also welcoming a little friendly competition, because hey, a little competition is a great way to put a fire under our butts and motivate us to push just a little harder.

#4 Treat Yo’ Self

Hey, listen up-if it’s been longer than you can remember since you spoiled yourself, use this as leverage to kickstart your fitness motivation. Set a goal-maybe it’s to wake up and do 25 minutes of exercise Monday through Friday or to try a new exercise class each month. Whatever it is, once you reach this goal, treat yo’ self!

The trick to making this act as a form of self-motivation is to be very specific about what this reward will be and decide on it now. So, if you reach that goal of exercising five days straight throughout the work week when you finish your Friday workout, it’s time to treat yourself to what you decided on. So, go on girl and get your nails done, pick out a new fitness outfit, or go get a massage. You deserve it, and it will feel amazing after crushing a fitness goal!

#5 Just do it!

Sometimes the simple act of literally just rolling out of bed, getting our sneakers on, throwing our hair in a bun, and just getting to it is the only way to make sure that workout is getting done. Plus, you will feel amazing about your accomplishment once you get it done. Sure, allow yourself to have a moment where you acknowledge all of that negative talk in your head telling you “you can’t,” but then push those negative thoughts to the side and just do it! The more you do, the more motivation you will have to keep showing up for your workouts all day err day.

The Takeaway
