7 Reasons Why Turmeric is Good for You

#1 Anti-inflammatory

Ok, so we already know this, right? So, let’s just throw this one out there right from the start by saying that turmeric is one of the best anti-inflammatory spices out there. It acts as such an incredibly anti-inflammatory agent that it’s worth talking about because inflammation is at the root of nearly all disease seen today. However, turmeric can also be super beneficial for those who need this superfood spice in their life to cool inflammation after an intense FitOn workout. Heck, it may even be able to help reduce some of the soreness you get after an intense sweat sesh. So, get to it, girl! If you don’t already enjoy this spice regularly, here is your reminder of just how great turmeric can be for reducing inflammation.

#2 Pain Relief

Turmeric is one of nature’s best all natural pain reducers. Get this, studies have found that turmeric acted just as strong, if not stronger than ibuprofen in managing pain. That’s pretty darn impressive considering turmeric is something we can all easily include in our diets without the side effects that often come along with the use of pain reducers.

#3 Boosts Digestion

Need a gut health boost? Let’s face it, most of us could use one. Whether we are dealing with stomach upset from everyday stress, or have frequent bouts of indigestion, and bloating, turmeric may be able to help. Due to the strong anti-inflammatory properties of this spice, turmeric may be able to help cool intestinal inflammation. Turmeric for the win, yet again.

#4 Slash Your Risk of Cancer

Undoubtedly one of the most impressive health benefits of turmeric has to do with the fact that this spice may hold some protective benefits against certain types of cancer. Studies have looked at curcumin, the active compound in turmeric and have found promising results when it comes to its ability to help protect the body from chronic disease, and cancer. Here’s just one more reason to sprinkle some turmeric in as many recipes as you can think of.

#5 Show Your Liver Some Love

One of the most traditional uses of turmeric is for its liver supporting benefits. Showing your liver some love with the addition of turmeric to your diet is a great way to help give your body a detox boost.

#6 Boost Your Body’s Antioxidant Capacity

If you could do one thing to support your overall health, boosting your body’s antioxidant capacity with turmeric can improve your health in more ways than we could count. This mighty spice not only helps protect the body from these little buggers called free radicals that lead to premature aging and disease, but turmeric can also help prevent them in the first place. This is just how amazing turmerics antioxidant capacity is. Do yourself a favor, and protect your body from disease and aging by adding turmeric to your diet.
