Fried foods are generally a big no-no when it comes to weight loss. Between the inflammatory fats to the added calories, fried foods don’t really have a place in our diet on the reg. However, enter the air fryer. The air fryer has become the fried food lovers BFF, and it can actually make fried foods healthy. We’re sharing three low-carb airy fryer recipes that you can feel good about eating.

#1 Air Fryer Keto Onion Rings

Onion rings are a favorite fried food, but with the breading and vegetable oils, they usually aren’t considered healthy. Oh, how times have changed! With the use of an air fryer, you can now make onion rings low-carb and guilt-free.


  • one large onion cut into rings
  • one egg
  • ¼ cup almond flour,
  • one teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika.

Add the egg to one bowl and whisk. Add the almond flour and seasoning to another and mix. Dip the onion rings into the egg mixture followed by the almond flour. Add to the air fryer basket in a single layer, and bake at 400 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until crispy. 

#2 Air Fryer Bacon

While once viewed as unhealthy, bacon has really made a comeback since the boom in the keto diet. Bacon is commonly enjoyed on a low-carb diet and can be made a little healthier with the use of the air fryer. To make low-carb air fryer bacon, split one full pack of bacon in half, adding half of the bacon to the bottom of the air fryer, and then cook for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Check at the five minute mark, flipping the bacon if needed! Cook for another 5 minutes or until the bacon is as crispy as you like it. Repeat with the other half of the bacon, or keep in the fridge to use another time. 

#3 Air Fryer Zucchini Fries

Let’s face it, french fries are damn delicious, right? But, if you’re watching your carb intake, you may want to hold the fries and choose something a little healthier. If you have an air fryer and some zucchinis handy, give this low-carb air fryer recipe a try.


  • 2 zucchinis, cut into sticks
  • ½ cup of almond flour
  • 1 egg
  • garlic powder.

Crack the egg into a mixing bowl and whisk. Add the almond flour and garlic powder to a separate bowl. Dunk the zucchini strips into the egg to cover both sides, followed by the almond flour mixture. Add to a single layer in the air fryer and cook for 20 minutes at 400 degrees F. Yup, that’s it! You now have healthy fries.
