Want in on the secret to a toned & sculpted butt? It may not be what you think. While there is often a ton of attention put on lunges, squats, donkey kicks, and just about every other glute exercise under the sun, getting a toned butt takes a little more than just going hard at the gym. So, if you’ve been practically spinning your wheels at the gym, and we mean literally for all you ladies who are dedicated to endless spin classes each week but are still struggling to see the payoff, it’s time to make a change.

So,where do you start, and what do you need to do to get the sculpted butt of your dreams? We’re going to tell you…

The Secret Sauce to a Toned Booty

Having a toned butt is something that all of us ladies dream of having, and hey, why not throw in lean legs and toned arms while we’re at it? Well, ready for the best news you’ve heard all day? It’s all possible with just a few fitness modifications to supercharge your workouts, clean up your diet, and make the most of every effort you put into a lean and healthy body.

Here are the steps you can take today to get that toned butt you’ve been working towards.

Take a Total Lower Body Approach

The trick lies in supporting and toning other areas of your body too. While it’s easy to get caught up in feeling like you need to overcommit to dozens of glute exercises every single time you workout, that’s not always necessary. While toning your butt can be done by doing squats, lunges, and fancier exercises like bridges and donkey kicks, working on your lower body, in general, is super important. Think about it this way, the lower part of your butt is connected to your hamstring, so if you completely skip over those hammy exercises, you won’t get the most out of your butt sculpting routine. So, the best thing to do is to tie some booty sculpting exercises in on leg day to hit all areas that really matter for optimal results.

Don’t Sit All Day

It makes sense that sitting all day would hinder us from getting a sculpted butt, but it’s easier said than done. Many of us work desk jobs where we literally have no choice but to sit all day long. But, do your best to get up and move! Take an extra lap during potty breaks, and get some movement in during your lunch break. Not only will your booty thank you for it, but your whole body will feel better too.

Get Dancing

There are very few workouts that are as fun as getting your groove on with a fitness dance class. Not only does dancing make an excellent form of exercise, but it can also be great for toning your butt. So, go ahead and drop it like it’s hot, no ones judging. Need some fitness dance inspo to get started? Dance and sweat it out with trainer JJ Dancer with FitOn app right from the comfort of your own home so you can literally dance like no one’s watching.

Add Variety

Are you stuck in an exercise rut? Getting stuck in a rut isn’t only detrimental for fitness motivation, but it can also cause a stall in progress. Try mixing things up a bit, and try out some different types of exercises that may challenge different muscle groups. Working on various muscle groups while continuing to incorporate your butt toning exercises may be just what you need to kick your results into high gear. Looking for some motivation and some new fitness classes to try out? At FitOn, we offer various popular exercise classes all taught by world-class trainers. And, the best part? The classes are always open, so you can take them any day and at any time.

Diet is King

Have you ever heard the expression that junk food goes straight to your butt? Well, this may be partially true, and a good reason to revamp your diet. Processed and artificial foods can quickly pack on excess weight, and for many of us, that weight goes straight to where we don’t want it (belly, tights, butt,) yup, it’s totally not fair, but it’s also a good motivator to steer clear of these damaging foods. Not only are they terrible for your butt toning goals, but they are just downright inflammatory. Instead, focus on as many whole and nutrient-dense foods that will fuel your body with exactly what it needs to power through your day and your workouts.

So, there you have it. The secret to a sculpted butt isn’t just about doing one hundred squats per day. It’s more about taking a whole body approach and working on various muscle groups that all support one another while eating clean and switching up your workout routine now and then. Here’s to supercharging your butt toning journey one exercise at a time!
